Nigel & Anna Newman

Nigel and Anna are the co-creators of BARISTA.

A songwriter, composer and musical director Nigel has written scores for a number of musicals including 'Jamaica Inn', an adaptation of the Daphne du Maurier novel and 'Rough Music, Rough Justice', a large scale community-based project.  A musical director, with over thirty years experience, he has also been commissioned to create new works including ‘Aspects of Life’, to support students in GCSE and A level music.  As a singer, he studied privately with Soo Bee Lee, gold medalist at the Royal Academy of Music.

He has also worked as musical director for Conservatoire shows: London Road - Chichester University.

Anna, who studied English Literature, has a keen interest in storytelling and narrative creation, coupled with bringing realism to character development through insight and observation.  This is her first collaboration on a musical and she has thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of writing and developing this original story and bringing it to life through the script and musical score.
